"Earthquake" in IL

Here's something to "muse" about.... There was an "earthquake" in southern Illinois yesterday morning, Friday, April 18, 2008, 4:36 AM to be precise!

It measured 5.2! The effects of that could be felt throughout the Midwestern states over 200 miles from the epicenter! Apparently, the rattling caused many folks to awake and wonder what was happening. (I was not one of those!) ;-)

However, as I sat at my computer later that morning, 10:15 AM to be precise, I felt one of the aftershock tremors! It was pretty cool! (It could be "cool" because no one was hurt in this whole thing; so the experience could be "enjoyed" without being surrounded by disaster!)

So, yeh. I wonder if my boys in college out in CA have yet experienced an earthquake? If not, I think that's funny that we had one here in Illinois! :-D

As I read this post from 2008, I decided to insert the exact date of that IL "earthquake" (tremor).... and of course, when I updated and re-hit "Publish," it came up on today's date! Goes to show me that I should just leave things in the past as they are! Oh well. It's just a 14-year-late update! No big deal!

Brittany and "Sadie"

And of course, Brittany loved Sadie! It was HER puppy. She had counted the days after Sadie was born in June until the day we could go pick her up! Nan loved Sadie, too, but caring for such a young pup combined with all the kids soon heading back to full-time at schools...was too much for Nan...and the decision was made to take Sadie back to her home in WI...where she was placed in a very good home with folks who raised golden retrievers! We had fun with Sadie for 6 days and we miss her! (You can see the new fence we put up in our back yard...for our doggie.)
